The Ciragan Palace Kempinski Hotel in Istanbul

Originally a palace, built in the 19th-century, as an Ottoman Imperial Palace, it has been restored with all the modern conveniences. Located on the shores of the Bosphorus overlooking the old city of Istanbul, it provides historical ambiance, luxurious amenities, wonderful cuisine in its restaurants and impeccable service and if you are staying there, they provide you with a personal Butler.

The location is perfect and the Palace is magnificent. Worth every penny, this five star hotel provides excellent service to its guests in the 313 rooms. There are 22 suites in the hotel. The nicest views are the rooms at the Kempinski which look over the Bosphorus.

There are a variety of award winning restaurants in the Kempinski Hotel, including the Tugra Restaurant which serves refined classical Turkish and Ottoman Cuisine. There is a bar in the restaurant, a marvelous selection of wine from their wine cellar and the menu is designed after the menus of the Sultans who once inhabited the Ciragan Palace.

There is a fish restaurant in the hotel, the Laledan Fish Restaurant, for those who love seafood, with an outdoor terrace on the Bosphorus. Also, be sure to visit the Gazebo Lounge which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

For cocktails, visit the Ciragan Bar which serves cigars, prime malt whiskies and cognacs where you can catch some entertainment in the evening.

The health facilities at the Çiragan Palace Kempinski Hotel are also five star for those wanted to pursue health and beauty. The spa is run by Sanitas. I tried a massage here which has to be the best massage I have ever experienced in my life. What I could have done next was head to their traditional-style Turkish Hamam, but because of the limits of time, I took a quick shower after my shower.

They also have a fabulous outdoor swimming pool which is heated in the winter for those that want to swim. The views from the pool are spectacular. For people who need more privacy, you can rent a cabana by the poolside. On the one side, you have the view of the Palace and looking in the opposite direction, you have the marvellous Bosphorus.

The prices at the The Ciragan Palace Kempinski are high but the palace, the service, the view, the food make it a supreme luxury hotel in Istanbul for you to enjoy your visit to the city.
