Hotels in Istanbul – The Bebek Hotel

Designed like the interior of a wooden ship, the Bebek Hotel located in the upscale neighborhood of Bebek, is a superior boutique hotel, one of the best little hotels in Istanbul to stay in on your visit to Istanbul. This is the first hotel that I stayed in while visiting the city.

The Bebek Hotel stands four floors high overlooking the Bosphorus, the waterway which runs from the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. There are 21 deluxe junior suits, nine of which overlook the sea with private balconies. On the street side, the main street of Bebek is 12 rooms. However, if you are a light sleeper, it’s worth paying the extra money for a sea view room because the traffic from the street may keep you awake. The rooms overlooking the Bosphorus are worth paying the extra money for because the view of the Bosphorus is superb. You will have sunsets and sunrise you will remember forever.

Every morning, from the balcony with black railings overhanging the restaurant below, I would watch the sun rise, the wooden goulettes (beautiful wooden sail boats) anchored, and the tankers and ships sailing down from the Black Sea. It is a most beautiful view one could site and watch forever in peace. There is really no need for tv in this perfect world even though you have a satellite tv in your room.

Currently, the price for a room with a balcony is € 290. Rooms overlooking the street are slightly less at € 200. Prices include breakfast and VAT. The rooms are tastefully decorated with all the modern amenities and there is good security provided at the hotel. The service is impeccable and discreet. The Bebek hotel will also provide driver service if you require.

There is a restaurant Les Ambassadeurs which serves an international menu, and drinks and snacks are available in the bar. There is a second bar located on the roof top which is new where you can enjoy a drink and the delightful views of the Bosphorus.

There is lots of shopping, dining and the business districts and close by. A driver can be hired to pick you up from the Atatürk International Airport. It is bit further from the major tourist sites of Istanbul which are within reach by taxi.

How would I rate the Bebek Hotel? I’d give it a five star rating, fabulous, discreet and one of the best boutique luxury hotels in Istanbul.
