Istanbul a City Full of Hotels

Istanbul, one of the most fascinating cities in the world because of its location and history is one place you surely don’t want to miss on your travels. Sitting upon two different continents, that of Asia and Europe means a blend of two different cultures, it has been called “The Cradle of Civilization.” Because of its location, it has developed into a major world metropolis and you’ll find the city of Istanbul at times is ultra modern and also of old world culture, traditions and religion. It is a political and commercial center for the Middle East, Balkan countries and the Turkic Republics of Central Asia. So once you have decided to visit Istanbul or the entire country of Turkey, for that matter, you’ll want to find yourself either a cheap or luxury hotel in Istanbul.

Your best source for information is one of two things – either the internet or some of the more recently published travel guides in your local bookstore. One of the wonderful things about the internet is that you can book your Istanbul and Turkey hotels right online, pay immediately by credit card and receive your hotel confirmation quickly, all in one session of the internet. The internet sites will also have other tourist reviews of the hotels, special price offers and different booking sites that have different prices. The cheapest place to book your hotel room is usually at the hotel’s own website which will offer you better rates and list all the hotel amenities your cheap luxury hotel in Turkey will have. There are photographs as well of the hotel and its surroundings so you will get a better idea of where you are going to stay for your vacation in Istanbul.

There are budget hotels in Istanbul you can book, if you are looking to save some money on lodging during your vacation. If you want to stay in a hotel that is extra charming and probably a little expensive, you could look for a boutique hotel. If you want to go first class, there are ample 5 star luxury hotels in the city of Istanbul. If you are a student and backpacking there are also many good hostels in Istanbul to choose from as well and many of these can be booked online. For any of these different types of hotels, make sure you are in a good location which is close to the many tourist sites you are going to want to visit.

For discount accommodation you can try such hotels as the 3 star Ilkay Hotel in Sirkeci, the 4 star Grand Yavuz Hotel in the district of Beyazit or the Historia Hotel in Sultanahmet, Istanbul. For luxury and charm, you could search for boutique hotels in Istanbul, such as the Sumahan on the Water Hotel, the Witt Istanbul Suites or the Amisos Hotel. For the ultimate in luxury hotels in Istanbul, Turkey, you could book at the Ciragan Palace Kempinski, the Hotel les Ottomans or the W Hotel Istanbul. If you are looking for hostels in Istanbul, just search for the term and you will find many sites that can help you in booking your lodging for your vacation.

There are so many choices for cheap or luxury hotels in Turkey. You may have a problem in deciding where you want to stay. Let your budget and your desired location in the city be your guide. And, when you arrive in the city, start out your vacation with a tour of the city of Istanbul and all the major tourist sites.

Hotels in Istanbul – The Bebek Hotel

Designed like the interior of a wooden ship, the Bebek Hotel located in the upscale neighborhood of Bebek, is a superior boutique hotel, one of the best little hotels in Istanbul to stay in on your visit to Istanbul. This is the first hotel that I stayed in while visiting the city.

The Bebek Hotel stands four floors high overlooking the Bosphorus, the waterway which runs from the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. There are 21 deluxe junior suits, nine of which overlook the sea with private balconies. On the street side, the main street of Bebek is 12 rooms. However, if you are a light sleeper, it’s worth paying the extra money for a sea view room because the traffic from the street may keep you awake. The rooms overlooking the Bosphorus are worth paying the extra money for because the view of the Bosphorus is superb. You will have sunsets and sunrise you will remember forever.

Every morning, from the balcony with black railings overhanging the restaurant below, I would watch the sun rise, the wooden goulettes (beautiful wooden sail boats) anchored, and the tankers and ships sailing down from the Black Sea. It is a most beautiful view one could site and watch forever in peace. There is really no need for tv in this perfect world even though you have a satellite tv in your room.

Currently, the price for a room with a balcony is € 290. Rooms overlooking the street are slightly less at € 200. Prices include breakfast and VAT. The rooms are tastefully decorated with all the modern amenities and there is good security provided at the hotel. The service is impeccable and discreet. The Bebek hotel will also provide driver service if you require.

There is a restaurant Les Ambassadeurs which serves an international menu, and drinks and snacks are available in the bar. There is a second bar located on the roof top which is new where you can enjoy a drink and the delightful views of the Bosphorus.

There is lots of shopping, dining and the business districts and close by. A driver can be hired to pick you up from the Atatürk International Airport. It is bit further from the major tourist sites of Istanbul which are within reach by taxi.

How would I rate the Bebek Hotel? I’d give it a five star rating, fabulous, discreet and one of the best boutique luxury hotels in Istanbul.
